Raitong Organics Farm

Our very special friends at Raitong Organics Farm have been growing organically and supplying Bo.lan from day one. Over the years Bryan and Tui have progressed from humble beginings to community leaders and innovators in organic and biodynamic farming. Their Gaba Rice is a mainstay of our menu. Currently Raitong are helping us manage a plot of land adjacent to their farm where we(they) are slowly cultivating a food forest that hopefully will eventually produce year round. http://www.raitongorganicsfarm.com/

Farmers’ Friend Rice

Farmers’ Friend Rice is planted only once a year, completely chemical free. It is a high quality organic rice, planted by farmers making the switch from chemical rice farming to organic practices, under the supervision of Earth Net Foundation, with its network of organic farming experts, quality controllers, millers and packers in Yasothorn. By supporting Farmers’ Friend Rice, you can eat rice that is good for your health while supporting farmers who are ready for a new life without dangerous chemicals that harm themselves and their environment. Chaw Na or Friends of the Field are an association of organic rice growers that actively cultivate a diverse range of rice varieties.

Homdokhung Rice
As for most of Southeast Asia, rice is the staple food of the Thai people. Whether it be paddy or glutinous, there are hundreds of varieties grown around Thailand.

Hom Dok Hang Rice is a community based enterprise situated in Sakon Nakon Province working for the restoration and conservation of local rice varieties. Rice in Thailand is especially susceptible to industrial agriculture and the people at Hom Dok are fighting to preserve the biodiversity.

Food security for humanity, especially now in this time of heightened climate crisis, is so important. Our food security is helped by preserving and cultivating over 100 varieties of rice such as Hoom Mali,  Khao Tao, khao it, Hoom Teet,

Being a farmer is a profession with integrity and pride, Hom Dok is giving rice farmers back the power of independence and allows them to determine not only the selling price but also the varieties they wish to grow.
